Uchu Kousaten SAGAMIHARA 2026 Comes to Sagamihara City Museum This November 🚀
This event is hosted by Kayac Inc.
“Uchu Kousaten SAGAMIHARA 2026” (a name that translates roughly to “Space Crossroads”) is held under the tagline “A city where all kinds of people meet all kinds of space” 🚀
The event started after Sagamihara City Museum’s planetarium was renovated in 2025 into what’s billed as the world’s first planetarium to combine 1 billion stars with 8K visuals!
This year’s turnout is expected to top last year’s roughly 7,000 visitors ✨
Event Details: Saturday, November 7 – Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Sagamihara City Museum
It runs from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Sagamihara City Museum (about a 20-minute walk from Fuchinobe Station on the JR Yokohama Line).
Admission is free (though the planetarium and some workshops require a fee), so it’s easy to stop by ✨
Check Out the Planetarium Live Show & Space Market 🖊️

The main highlight is the ermhoi & Marty Holoubek x Planetarium Live show!
It’s a special live performance by track maker and singer ermhoi and bassist Marty Holoubek, held inside the world’s first planetarium combining 1 billion stars with 8K visuals ♫
It only happens on Saturday, November 7, and requires advance reservation, so be sure to check early if you’re interested 📅

The Space Market, running both days, brings together 20 space-loving creators from all over Japan 🎨
Accessories, goods, art pieces, illustrations, and more will be on display and for sale at booths on the 1st floor 🛍️
Space-Themed Food, a Mystery Hunt, and Workshops Galore ✨

At the space food area, open both days, you’ll find limited-time space-themed treats like “Space Basque Cheesecake,” “Space Chiffon Cake,” and “Space Soybean Gelato” 🌟
These will be served in the parking area and at booths on the 1st floor 🍰

There’s plenty to try hands-on too: the “Build Your Own Alien” workshop, where you combine different parts to make an original figure; a new museum-wide mystery hunt called “A Message from Gyamimi“; and a “Space Photo Studio” where you can take souvenir photos as if you’re in outer space — all running both days.
With so much to enjoy together, it’s a great pick for families with kids too 👨👩👧

Who Is Gyamimi, the Event’s Original Character? 👽

Ahead of the event, four-panel comics and a fan page featuring the original character “Gyamimi” have already been rolling out!

Gyamimi is an alien who lives in Sagamihara, part of a species where a pink tribe and a green tribe live together. Root vegetables (like yamatoimo yam, burdock root, and carrots) are a favorite food, and wearing a helmet is required on Earth — the little details in this backstory are part of the charm ✨
The character was designed by illustrator nico ito, a graduate of Musashino Art University’s Department of Scenography, Space, Fashion, Interior and Environment Design.

More details will be posted regularly on the official website ✅

The Planetarium Live show needs advance reservations, so if you’re planning to go on November 7, it’s best to check the details early! I’m personally curious about the “Build Your Own Alien” workshop 😆
