🌸🖌️ Off to the Dazzling World of Hokusai! 🚀✨

This time we headed out to the much-talked-about exhibition “HOKUSAI: Everything Was Hokusai’s Doing” 🎨✨
Honestly, we weren’t die-hard Hokusai fans before this — but a TV commercial caught our eye and we thought, “wait, this looks actually fun?!” and off we went 🚶♀️💨
The venue is CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO in Kyobashi 💙
First time exploring Kyobashi — such a chic area, vibes were immediately elevated 🎈
Right as you enter — BAM! Powerful, sweeping artwork hits you the moment you walk through the door 🌊💥
📷 Photography is generally allowed, but there are no-photo zones — so keep an eye out 👀💫
It was busy, and we kept moving with a chorus of “oh wow!” and “no way!” — but we made sure to stop and snap the cutest pieces 📷💖
🐘 Check Out This Elephant Painting!
Isn’t the person in this painting kind of adorable? 💓
The elephant, on the other hand… wrinkly skin and a slightly intense stare 😢
And then there’s this one 💥
Apparently Hokusai painted a lion in the style of a Western dog 🎨💡 Colorful polka dots scattered all over — absolutely love it 🌈✨
The color palette on this one is gorgeous too 💗 And the pose of the figure on the left? Total heart-eyes moment 💃🎶
We Also Stopped by the Themed Café “Hokusai Shokudo”! 🍔💙
On the same floor as the exhibition, there’s a café called “Hokusai Shokudo” — we had to check it out 🍽️✨
First up: “Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji — Kanagawa Surfing Soba” 🌊💙
“Oh my god, it’s THAT wave!!” — instant excitement ⤴️✨
The blue part on top looks like mayonnaise (?) but it’s not meant to be eaten 💭 Be careful not to get it on your fingers when moving the plate 👆💦
Next: the “Hokusai’s Doing Burger” 🍔✨
The best angle for photos is from the side — the burger pops out dramatically like manga speed lines 💨💫
You get to keep the burger wrapper as a souvenir 🎁 But the blue stuff on top of the bun WILL get on your fingers — you’ve been warned ⚠️💦
A paper apron is provided for eating, and we strongly recommend using it 👚💖
The “Bijin-ga Parfait” 🍨💕 — genuinely delicious, no notes 😋✨
We also had the “Fuji Over the Sea Crepe” 🌊🍓 — it was SO long!! Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟﾉ)ﾉ✨
The wrapper can get sticky on your hands when you peel it back, so be careful 🧁💫
🍴 Honest Take on the Café
Real talk — the food is a little tricky to deal with 💦 Everything is made to order so there’s some wait time, and eating neatly is genuinely a challenge 💭
For a first date? Skip the café and just enjoy the exhibition — trust us 💘🎨 Wandering through together saying “oh I love this one!” is plenty magical on its own 🌸✨
