Design Festa is Japan’s largest art event, bringing together artists and creators from around the world — regardless of whether they’re pros or amateurs!
Held twice a year (spring and fall) at Tokyo Big Sight,
it brings together a stunning range of handmade goods, illustration, fashion, installations, and so much more🌈

①Ayatsu Kobo
First up is Ayatsu Kobo!
How stunning is this colorful detachable collar?!🎀 Those fluffy ruffles are absolutely everything!!
It’s guaranteed to become the star of any outfit😤
What I bought this time is this animal-print detachable collar, packed with tigers, zebras, and leopards!🐯🦓🐆
It’s made from a semi-sheer, scarf-like material, so it’s incredibly easy to style!
I think it’d look amazing paired with a plain tee — or even layered over a band tee!💖

② Anna’s brain
Next up is Anna’s brain!
Look closely at the artwork… it’s filled with incredibly intricate, tiny details!
At the booth, they even let you borrow a magnifying glass to see it all!🔍
The impression shifts completely depending on how far away you stand — it’s so fascinating😲
What I bought is an octopus sticker!🐙
The intricate details inside will have you staring at it for ages!🤣

Next is Odd Eye!
How cute is this color palette?!🎨 Odd Eye is an upcycling brand that takes worn-out vintage knitwear, deconstructs it, and gives it a completely new life!🌱
What I bought is an arm cover!
The animal print with a cool-toned fabric base is just so pretty!💗
It’s perfect for sunny days when you want sun protection, or whenever it’s a little chilly!

Next is kikukaku!
kikukaku is a clay artist who creates flower-motif works!
I’d been thinking lately that I wanted some flowers at home,
and these plump, rounded forms just made my heart skip a beat!💐
What I bought is this super cheerful flower!
Just looking at it puts a big smile on your face🌈

⑤ ShellCandle
Next is ShellCandle!
I walked past the booth and immediately did a double take lol
Wait — all of this is candles?! They’re way too cute!🌈💗
And the scents literally match what they look like!
(The popcorn one smells like white musk🍿)
What I bought is the Gummy Bear candle!
That glittery gummy bear sitting on top is just too good🧸
Burn time is 30–38 hours!
It takes a little courage to actually light it, but the creator SHELL says: “Just go for it, all the way!”😆

I love the adorable everyday scenes of a bird in a raincoat and their little friends — they’re so wholesome they make you giggle🐣
What I bought is these 2 stickers!

Next is paWag!
I stopped by their booth at the last Design Festa too, and honestly —
can they get any cuter?! So colorful, sparkly, and squishy!!✨
What I bought this time is a pouch and a bag!
Candy, trolls, and flowers shaking around inside — my excitement went through the roof⤴︎😆

Next is PANTON!
The gentle, dreamy vibe is just so lovely!
That effect of paint bleeding softly into the fabric is absolutely perfect for anyone who loves tie-dye!
What I bought is this butterfly ring🦋
The band is handmade from beads!
When you wear it, it looks just like a butterfly has landed on your finger☺️

Next is Horror Rug Mao!
I don’t usually go for horror-style goods,
but something about this booth just hit me like a bolt of lightning as I walked past!⚡️
Taking a slightly eerie motif and turning it into a rug somehow gives it this pop, playful energy that just works!

It’s so gloriously over-the-top glam, just looking at it fills you with energy!

The holographic foil finish is absolutely stunning — it catches the light in a completely different way every single time✨
The sheer boldness of “Only money wins!!!!!!”

Next is miuta!
miuta’s booth was stocked with overalls, hats, and turbans that make you feel instantly energized just by putting them on!

The bold pop art characters crammed all over every inch of it are just too good🎨✨

⑫ Mrs.Turban
Next is Mrs.Turban!
Mrs.Turban is a booth selling hair turbans, bags, straps, and other fabric accessories all made from African fabric!
What I bought is a tote bag!
The bold turquoise blue × gold × navy color combination is so striking that just carrying it instantly transports you to somewhere far away🐚✨
The large shell pattern in African print spreads across the entire bag —
the presence it has is just on a completely different level! And apparently the glitter detail is super rare to find!👀
Pair it with a simple white tee and jeans and your whole outfit instantly takes on a global, effortlessly chic vibe — it’s an absolute must for summer festivals and markets🎪

Next is Minamiparis!
Minamiparis is a creator building the world of “POPOLAMIAN LAND”!
I got completely pulled in by the energy radiating from their booth the moment I arrived!✨🌀
What I bought is a badge strap from the gacha machine!

There are 6 designs in total, and each one is connected to an overarching narrative!

Last but not least is MUNEZA!
MUNEZA is a fashion brand blending African fabric with Japanese trends!
They use fabric sourced directly from local markets in Rwanda!🎉
What I bought is a toilet paper cover!
The bold African print in yellow × blue × black is so strikingly stylish,
it’s hard to believe it’s a toilet paper cover🌼✨
That subtle MUNEZA tag is such a thoughtful detail — just placing it in your bathroom instantly transforms the space into something ethnic, curated, and full of personality!

I always end up wanting to buy everything, and honestly — I completely understand why lol. Being able to chat directly with creators while you shop is truly what makes Design Festa so special🎀
