First things first — download the app and pick your avatar character called a “Holosuit” 👗
There are options ranging from human-like characters to full-on robots, so finding one that matches your vibe is actually really fun!
Once you’ve set your name, the app immediately nudges you to “Go listen to someone’s conversation!”
Our initial reaction? “Wait, hold on — I’m not ready for this!” 😂 But since your voice apparently can’t be heard just by entering, we went ahead and joined anyway (lol)
When we entered a room, people were already talking! Turns out everyone was kind of figuring out what they could do as they went 👀
Oh, and your profile can be edited later — so just go with your gut at the start and don’t overthink it 🙆♀️
Our Honest First Impressions as a Listener 🎧
So what did it feel like to actually use it? In one word… it feels like an evolved version of Clubhouse 🤔
Remember back in 2021 during COVID when you’d suddenly realize “oh wow, [someone famous] is on Clubhouse at this hour!”? Yeah, it kind of gives those vibes.
As a listener, you can leave comments and even support your favorite broadcasters using “Power” — the app’s in-app currency feature.
Broadcasters can also share images, making it a solid radio+ content experience 📻
And of course, it’s not just for broadcasting to strangers — it totally works as a regular voice call app with friends too!
As for paid features, there are coins to buy new Holosuits and a Premium Membership with exclusive perks 💎
We Did a Live Call with Summer! The Camera Work Had Us Obsessed 💕
We took things up a notch and did a live call together with Summer 🥂
On screen, our avatars were chilling on a sofa — and the seating positions are assigned automatically, which is so convenient! (You can choose the setting though, like “Living Room” or “Family Restaurant”)
The camera automatically switches to whoever is speaking, and voice recognition handles the lip-sync and movement all on its own — like, is this not genuinely impressive tech?? ✨
Every time the camera cuts, the person’s name and status appear on screen — so viewers never have to wonder “wait, who is that again?” 👍 Super thoughtful!
The reaction features are also cute-but-make-sense, and when you start talking while someone else is speaking, a little manga-style wipe effect pops up — that comedic touch absolutely sent us 😂
