Yukipoyo Officially Launches Her Music Career 🎤

Yukipoyo (real name: Yuki Kimura, born October 23, 1996, from Kanagawa Prefecture) built her career as an exclusive model for the magazine egg and appeared on both The Bachelor Japan Season 1 and the U.S. version of The Bachelor. Now she’s officially kicked off her music career as “Yukipoyo” 🎤
These days she’s also active across variety shows and acting, and this new project comes with a clear mission: bringing Japan’s gyaru culture (a flashy, glam Japanese fashion and lifestyle subculture) to the world.
Expect to see a lot more of her as this new chapter of her career takes off.
Music Video for “Te-Te Gyaru” Filmed All Over Shibuya 📸
The title of her new single, “Te-Te Gyaru,” comes from “tee-tee,” gyaru slang meaning something like “precious” or “wholesome.”
The lyrics are packed with slang spanning generations — throwback phrases old-school gyaru would recognize alongside ultra-current lines about being an unapologetically glammed-up gyaru 😂

The track was produced by XLII, who’s written songs for artists like MINMI and AKKOGORILLA.

The music video was shot on location all over Shibuya — the Scramble Crossing, SHIBUYA 109, and even inside a purikura (Japanese photo sticker booth).
It also features exclusive models from the legendary gyaru magazines egg and nuts, making for a video that’s packed with authentic gyaru culture 📹
The video was produced by PUSH JAPAN, the team behind Megan Thee Stallion x Yuki Chiba’s “Mamushi” music video, which won Best Trending Video at the MTV Video Music Awards. That alone should tell you how good this one’s going to be!

My favorite part of the video is the purikura scene!
It captures real Shibuya gyaru culture so perfectly, it’s almost too nostalgic 😭
You all need to watch the MV!

I had no idea Yukipoyo was becoming a singer!
And naming the song after “tee-tee” (Japanese slang for something wholesome and precious) is such a genius move 😳🎶
