Cofun Gal no Coffy Turns 20! What Is This New Flash×AI Anime? 🏺

Cofun Gal no Coffy originally aired in 2006 as part of director FROGMAN‘s anthology series THE FROGMAN SHOW. It quickly became one of the defining works of Japan’s Flash animation era, and to this day it still has a deeply devoted fanbase 🥺

Now, 20 years later, Coffy is back with a brand-new show!

The new series is titled THE FROGMAN SHOW EVOLUTION, produced as a three-way collaboration between DLE Inc., TSK San-in Chuo Television, and Prinets Co., Ltd. 🤝

What makes this revival especially exciting is its production style — it blends the classic look and feel of Flash animation with AI-assisted artwork in a “Flash×AI” hybrid approach that’s unlike anything we’ve seen before! ✨

FROGMAN’s Reason for Using AI Is Absolutely Iconic 😂

According to FROGMAN himself, the main reason he leaned so heavily into AI was simply — “because drawing is a hassle”! 💦 Honestly, that kind of refreshingly blunt honesty is so perfectly on-brand for FROGMAN it’s hilarious.

But the result? The distinctive charm of Flash animation is fully preserved, while the production opens the door to bold new visual experiments.

Looking ahead, reboots and spinoffs of other FROGMAN works are also in development — and a manga adaptation is reportedly in the works too! 🎊

Cofun Doctor Coffy ER: Plot, Cast & Broadcast Info 2026 📺

In the new series, the story is set in a hospital!

Coffy is now a young medical intern who works alongside Nintoku and Daniel in the emergency room (ER), facing life-and-death situations while growing as a doctor 🏥

A kofun burial mound gal… becoming a doctor? The sheer gap between those two things is absolutely everything 😂

Cast & Staff | Voice of Coffy: Mai Aizawa! 🎙️

Premieres Saturday, November 7, 2026 on TSK San-in Chuo Television! 📅

TVer, U-NEXT, Niconico… All the Streaming Options! 📱

Don’t worry if you’re outside the TSK San-in Chuo Television broadcast area!

Catch-up streaming and on-demand services mean you can watch Coffy no matter where you are 🌟

🔗 Streaming Platforms: TVer (catch-up streaming) / FOD / U-NEXT / Niconico (“Eagle Talon 20th Anniversary Channel”)

On Niconico’s official channel “Eagle Talon 20th Anniversary Channel,” you can enjoy this alongside all things Eagle Talon — so if you’re a FROGMAN fan, make sure to subscribe! 🙏✨

TVer and FOD will also carry live catch-up streaming after each broadcast!

Coffy becoming a doctor is the most surreal thing ever — and FROGMAN saying AI is good because “drawing is a hassle”? I love this franchise so much!! 😂💕
