60 Years Since Landing in Japan — And the Origin Story Is Wild
The very first thing that shocked me when I walked in was the history.
Gacha machines actually came to Japan from America in 1965 ✈️ — making this the 60th anniversary year of their arrival in Japan! Something to celebrate 🌈✨
Back when they were invented in the US, they were used to calm down crying children — which is why they were called “Shut Up Toys”. The most powerful name in toy history?! 😂💥
The legendary original machine, “BIG BOY”, is on display at the venue. Standing in front of it and thinking “this is where gacha culture all began” genuinely got me a little emotional 🥺❤️
The Passion Is Real — Creator Column Exhibition 🎨
After the history section, the next room features column panels from individual creators.
I actually came face to face with the creator of a “Hokke Case” I pulled years ago — I’d never seen their face before! Such a strangely moving moment 🐟💖 (I used to keep my stamp inside that case lol)
The panels are packed with thoughts on “what makes gacha fun” and each creator’s personal obsessions. Reading through them — “oh, THAT’S how they think about making these!” — honestly sparked something in my own creative brain 📡🥺✨
Like a Corporate Open Day?! Manufacturer Showcase Area 🏢✨
The next room is dedicated to individual manufacturer showcases.
Ikimono, Kitan Club, Ken Elephant and more — all the big names in one place 🎨👀
Each company’s personality comes through clearly in their displays, and seeing everything lined up had my excitement meter through the roof 📈🌈
The panels cover their creative philosophies and what “fun” means to them — it honestly feels like a very cool adult career fair 🏫
The realization that every single capsule I’ve ever pulled had this much heart poured into it… Summer is moved 🥺
